Matt McDonough's War Poem
By Matt McDonough
Genre: Poetry Level: High School 10-12
Category: Student Examples

Should we be Involved?

Should we have gotten involved in this war
without many good reasons
Maybe we should value life much more
and try to stop all this blood and gore

But now that we're here
we should support our troops
not like those protesters who jeer
only the patriots who cheer

I just hope the world sees
what we're doing is right
that we're not just some bullies
who are looking for a fight
