Mandy Aceves' War Poem
By Mandy Aceves

People lying everywhere
Brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles,
Family members lost

Loved ones lying alone
No family recognition
Sorrow fills the hearts of many

Wounded soldiers coming home
Filling empty voids
Making one family happy

Loved ones gone
Soon wounded hearts feel the pain
Anguish through the country

Outstretched arms
Old friends reunite for support
The country unites to become one
