Where the Red Fern Grows, by Wilson Rawls

Where the Red Fern Grows is a really good book, so good that it's hard to stop reading. OK, the book is about a boy that loves dogs but he doesn't have enough money to get one. He does deeds for his grandpa and sells stuff to the fishermen until he can buy two dogs. They are bloodhounds and he trains them to hunt for possums. Something tragic happens at the end.
