Four Native leaders from Alaska's Interior

Meeting at Tolovana, these four Native leaders from Alaska's Interior gathered sometime before 1920. From left is a medicine man known as Old Albert; Chief Alexander Williams, a Tanana Athabascan; Chief Alexander, a Tolovana Athabascan; and Chief Charley, a Minto Athabascan. Note that the shaman is wearing a metal cross on a ribbon, along with a traditional necklace. Archives, University of Alaska Fairbanks.
