The first newspaper in Fairbanks offered news of the community in stories and advertisements that were littered with names that today adorn street signs, buildings, and geographical features in and around Fairbanks. Among them are Hess, Noble, Gilmore, Pedro, Wickersham, Cleary, Condon, and Joy. Alaska State Archives.
