Snow With an Angry Attitude
By Eleanor Murphy
Genre: Poetry Level: Elementary 4-6
Year: 2006 Category: Margaret Mielke Memorial Poetry Award

Coming down quickly
A bullet of ice
Not dancing and fluffy
Thin, fast, and sharp
Intersected by a windshield
Still for a moment
Then harshly thrown off
Smashed to the ground
Still an angry snowflake.

About the Author: Eleanor Murphy attends Eagle River Elementary School in Anchorage, AK.
